Bureau of Police Research and Development invites Research Proposal 29 Jan 2010
The Bureau of Police Research and Development, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi, a pivotal organization in the area of Police and Prison Research and Development of the Country invites proposals from Universities, Non Government Organizations and individuals (through Universities/NGOs) for undertaking Research Studies on following subjects:
1. Status of Probation, Parole, Leave and their Impact on the Overcrowding in India Prisons
2. Status of Correctional programmes including prison Industries on the Reformation and Rehabilitation of Prisoners
3. Impact of Imprisonment on the Prisoners’ Family and
4. Status of Implementation of Aftercare Services for Released Prisoners in India
Interested professionals having specialization in Social Science Research including Criminology and Correctional Administration and Police Science, attached to recognized universities/organizations including NGOs are eligible to apply. The Bureau has identified objectives of all the above mentioned topics and the applicants will submit the proposal as per the guidelines laid down by the BPR&D guidelines which are available on our website: www.bprd.gov.in
The Research Projects shall be coordinated by a professionally competent individual(s) or organizations well versed in executing/overseeing execution of research projects of interstate jurisdiction will not be a participant/applicant for the individual Research Study. The coordinator, however, they shall primarily be responsible for (i) Scrutinizing the applications according to the specified objectives; (ii) Certifying research designs as per the laid down standard of research methodology; (iii) Monitoring the progress of research work through periodic need based visits and preparation of progress reports to be submitted to the BPR&D; (iv) Supervising quality of research work; (v) arranging workshop in collaboration with BPR&D to finalize the findings and recommendations of research studies.
The coordinator shall be entitled for a lumpsum remuneration not exceeding 10% of the Total Budget for the approved research project for all further expenses for the discharge of aforesaid duties & responsibilities.
