For centuries, humanity has been witness to brutalities on the pretext of serving one’s faith and to expand or protect its influence. However, despite massive bloodshed for centuries, no one religion holds sway over other beliefs today.
But in comparison to intolerance and hatred, greed for wealth and power has caused more havoc in the world. Can we ignore the countless lives devoured by European colonialists, communists like Mao and Stalin and modern capitalists? However, if fanatics like Ayman Al-Zawahiri and Anders Breivik continue to find inspiration from medieval crusades, would it take much time before the world gets burned down by the old hatred?
